I’m in rage because I cant find a good enough explanation as to how Salazar Slytherin hid the Chamber of Secrets in a girl’s bathroom when indoor plumbing hadn’t been invented yet.
bestfriendandholidayroommate:
Huh. I have honestly never thought of this. Maybe the wizards thought of pipes and let the muggles have the technology centuries later?
I am going through my Harry Potter tag right now, found this, and got really excited because J. K. Rowling explained it in Pottermore and that just makes me really happy to have an author who is so involved in her world that she has answers for all these little questions.
Christmas break goals

bestfriendandholidayroommate:
If I come back from break and haven’t finished at least NUMBER of these, yell at me and make me feel bad or something
Watch all available Lizzy Bennet Diaries
- Watch Gravity Falls
Watch through season 2 of Downton Abbey
- Watch Firefly with siblings
Read 4 new books
Start Awakening preparations (at least most of what I have with me)
I’ll be obnoxiously updating this for my own sake, so blacklist Christmas break goals if you don’t want to see it on your dash
I finished From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and the first Series of Unfortunate Events book, both of which I had started before break. I read the second SoUE (is that the abbreviation?) book shortly after. Yesterday I finished The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold to reach my goal of 4 books, but before I could update this, I also read The Giver, which I had surprisingly never gotten around to reading. I’m now 10 books into my goal of reading 25 new books this school year!
Also: whenever I reblog myself on chrome it sends it back to klainelynch rather than reblogging directly from bestfriendandholidayroommate, despite the fact that I tell it to post to the latter url rather than the former. Any thoughts as to why it would do this?
I can mark two things off my list woot!

Woops realized I never actually set a number for myself, so let’s say I have to have at least 5 of these done. I’m already done with three books and nearly done with a fourth, so that one should be no problem. I thought I had a link to Gravity Falls but now I can’t find it, so I guess I’ll just search for that tomorrow. And I’m about 60% done with Awakening prep!
I think tomorrow I’ll start writing Christmas letters, so if you’re reading this and haven’t requested one and want one, message me your address (I’m going to obnoxiously ask for this up and throughout Christmas, and the season lasts through January 6, so you may as well just get it over with and send me your address)
